Sam Fish Earns National & Ivy League Defensive Player Of The Week

Senior goalkeeper Sam Fish started out her season with a strong performance, making 15 saves as Princeton knocked off No. 10 Virginia in Charlottesville, 17-11. For her work in the cage, Fish was named IWLCA National Defensive Player of the Wee and Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week.

Fish's 15 saves were one away from tying her career high. She made four saves in each of the first three quarters, and stopped three shots in the fourth.

She was also 3-for-5 in stopping free position attempts from the Cavaliers.

This marks the first IWLCA National Player of the week nod and the second Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week honor for Fish, the first coming on April 8, 2019 after she recorded 24 saves over two games in wins against Villanova and Dartmouth.

Fish and the Tigers are home at Class of 1952 Stadium for the first time this season on Saturday, hosting Temple at 12 p.m.
