Fillier Scores Twice in Three-Point Night for Tigers as Canada Wins Again

Sarah Fillier '24 made it four goals in two games in her Olympic debut, again getting Canada on the board within the first two minutes of the game as Canada defeated Finland 11-1 in the team's second game of the Olympic tournament on Friday night (ET) in Beijing.

Fillier had the first and third goals for Canada, with the latter of those coming 3:22 into the second period to put the Canadians up 3-1. Claire Thompson '20 had her sixth point of the Games, assisting on Fillier's first goal.

Now 2-0, Canada will play again on Sunday at 11:10 p.m. ET against ROC.

Before then, Kim Newell '16 (Zhou Jiaying) and China will look to build on their 3-1 win over Denmark when they take on Japan on Sunday at 3:40 a.m. ET. China stands 1-1, with Newell making her Olympic debut when she started the Denmark game and made 22 saves on the way to the win.
