PLAYOFF TIME!
The second season begins this weekend as the Tigers head to the Capital Region to take on Union in the fourth-ever postseason series between the two teams. The Tigers have won two of the previous three series, including a 2-1 series win in the 2009 ECAC Quarterfinals and a 2-0 sweep in Messa Rink in the 2018 Quarterfinals en route to the ECAC Championship.
PLAYOFFS UNDER RON FOGARTY
The Tigers are 10-9 all-time in ECAC Playoff games under head coach Ron Fogarty. He is 4-4 in playoff series, and 3-3 in the first round. Of Princeton's 19 ECAC Playoff games coached by Fogarty, nine have gone to overtime -- Princeton is 4-5 in those games. Overall, the Tigers have played 12 games decided by one goal in the playoffs under Fogarty, going 6-6 in those games.
LAST TIME IN THE PLAYOFFS
Princeton's most recent playoff experience came in the 2020 ECAC Playoffs where the Tigers entered as the No. 11 seed and swept No. 6 Dartmouth via a pair of overtime wins at Thompson Arena. Current senior Mark Paolni scored the GWG on the power play just past the midway point of overtime to secure the series win for the Tigers.
LUKE KEENAN... PLAYOFF PERFORMER
Nine players on Princeton's roster have points in ECAC Playoff games, but none has risen to the challenge more in the postseason than Luke Keenan. The senior center has six points with one goal and five assists over his 10 career playoff games. Captain Matthew Thom (3 assists) and forward Christian O'Neill (2 goals) each have multiple playoff points, while Spencer Kersten (1g), Mike Ufberg (1g), Mark Paolini (1g), Finn Evans (1g), Corey Andonovski (1a) and Nick Seitz )1a) each have found the scoresheet in the playoffs.
SCOREY ANDONOVSKI
Senior Corey Andonovski leads the Tigers in scoring with 9g, 12a for 21 points. He has 14 points (4g, 10a) over his last 17 games and now has five multi-point games this season. Of his nine goals, five have come on the power play. His 5 PPGs rank No. 2 in the ECAC and No. 28 in the nation.
THE MURPH
Rookie Ian Murphy has 19 total points, tallying a point in 14 games overall and highlighted by a 1g, 2a night at Yale. He has 11 points over his last 10 games, including nine points (4g, 5a) over his last seven games before missing the last five games with injury.
ABOUT ADAM
Adam Robbins has 12 points this season, far surpassing the two he had in 2019-20 as a freshman. The Tigers are 7-3-0 this season in games where Robbins finds the scoresheet.
PITO POCKETS POINTS
Defenseman Pito Walton had six points over the first four games of the season, His 4g-7a line in 2021-22 has already surpassed his output in 25 games as a freshman in 2019-20.
SPENCER ON FIRE
Spencer Kersten has tallied 12 points over his last 17 games, with 6g, 6a dating back to 12/11 at Providence.
