Ben Harrington Named AVCA Men's Division I-II Player of the Week

LEXINGTON, KY. – On the heels of being named the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA) Tournament Most Outstanding Player, sophomore Ben Harrington of the No. 14 Princeton University men's volleyball team has been honored as the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Men's Division I-II Player of the Week.
Also recently named the EIVA Newcomer of the Year, Harrington hit .441 and recorded 56 kills in the Tigers' three wins at the EIVA Tournament. In Princeton's win over Saint Francis (PA) in the quarterfinals, he hit .526, had 11 kills, seven digs, five service aces, and three blocks. Harrington backed that up with 21 kills, a .415 hitting percentage, eight digs, and two service aces in the Tigers' semifinal victory over second-ranked and top-seeded Penn State. In the EIVA Championship match, he hit .476 and had a career-high 24 kills, seven digs, and three blocks.
Harrington is the fourth Tiger to be honored as AVCA Men's Division I-II Player of the Week; he joins Jason Morrow in 1998, senior Parker Dixon in 2017, and senior Jerod Nelsen in 2020.
Harrington and the Tigers are in action next on Sunday, May 1, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament against (RV) North Greenville University (20-5) inside Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles, California.
