Marge Donovan Earns IWLCA National Defensive Player of the Week Honors

Senior defender Marge Donovan earned IWLCA National Defensive Player of the Week honors after her standout performance en route to her selection as Most Outstanding Player at the 2022 Ivy League Women's Lacrosse Tournament.

Donovan set a new program record with 12 draw controls in Princeton's 19-9 win over Yale on Sunday to claim the Ivy League Tournament championship. Donovan was named Most Outstanding Player of the Ivy Tournament as well as earning All-Tournament honors. For the weekend, she had 19 DCs, 5 CTs, 5 GBs, and an assist in Princeton's two wins to secure an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Over the course of the weekend, she also became the Princeton all-time leader in draw controls (204) and set a new single-season record for draws (102).

Donovan and the Tigers open the 2022 NCAA Division I Women's Lacrosse Tournament on May 13, hosting UMass at 7 p.m. at Sherrerd Field. That game will follow the opener between No. 5 Syracuse and Fairfield at 4 p.m. Tickets are on sale now for both the First and Second Rounds.
