Sears & Fish Claim Ivy Weekly Awards

Kyla Sears and Sam Fish paced Princeton to a pair of victories last week, securing an outright Ivy League championship and the 16th Ivy League title overall for the program. For their efforts, Sears and Fish received Ivy League Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards, respectively.
Sears has now won Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week five times this season and eight for her career. She had 13 points this past week, scoring 11 goals and dishing out a pair of assists as the Tigers defeated Columbia and Yale to secure a 7-0 Ivy League record and the Ivy title. Her two assists against Yale on Saturday give her 93 for her career and sole possession of the No. 1 spot all-time in career assists by a Tiger. She had seven points in total against Yale, tying the program record for career points with 285.
Fish made a career-high 17 saves in the 17-14 win over Yale on Saturday. Her work in the cage kept Princeton either tied or in the lead the entire game. She is now a three-time Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week for her career and has won the award twice this season.
The Tigers (12-3 overall, 7-0 Ivy) will host the Ivy League Tournament May 6-8 at Class of 1952 Stadium. Princeton will play Harvard at 7 p.m. on May 6 in the semifinals following Yale and Cornell which starts at 4 p.m. The two semifinal winners advance to Sunday's championship game at noon.
