James Wangsness started the scoring for Princeton with an early strike. He capitalized on a gaffe from Rider's goalie as the keeper sent a clearing pass right into Wangsness' feet. One touch and a curling right-footed shot to the far post later, the Tigers had a 1-0 lead.

Ryan Clare added a pair of insurance goals in the second half to provide separation for the Tigers and securing his first career brace in the process.
Â
He doubled Princeton's lead in the 54th minute, diving into a header that knocked home a well-placed Mateo Godoy service.

Just over seven minute later, Clare struck again from close range. Whit Gamblin's shot off a Tiger corner was blocked away from the line by a Rider defender, but Clare went to the ground and booted home the rebound for the final margin.

The Tigers are now 3-1-0 over their last four matches, and have held opponents off the scoresheet for the last 193:23 of gameplay dating back to the Fairfield match. William Watson made just one save to record his first career shutout.
Â
Up next for the Tigers is a trip to Queens to take on St. John's on September 27 at 7 p.m. in a rematch of last year's NCAA Tournament first round match which was won by the Red Storm, 1-0.
