Arthur Smith Named ECAC Rookie Of The Week

After making a career-high 36 saves in an overtime with over No. 10 Cornell. freshman goaltender Arthur Smith has been named ECAC Rookie of the Week.

Smith made 14 of his saves in the third period and added another two in overtime as the Tigers rallied from a 1-0 deficit to knock off the Big Red in front of a sold-out Hobey Baker Rink crowd. His work in goal helped the Tigers kill off a five-minute major penalty midway through the third period and he was instrumental in washing out a Cornell power play which covered the final 0:12 of regulation and the first 1:48 of overtime.

Smith is now 2-1-0 as a starter, with a pair of overtime wins to his credit. He ranks No. 6 in the ECAC in both GAA (2.74) and save percentage (.913).

The Tigers head to Columbus, Ohio for the Thanksgiving Break, taking on Ohio State on November 24-25.
