Men's Hockey Rallies By Brown, 3-2
February 17, 2023 | Men's Ice Hockey
The culture came through.
Â
Princeton had to rally back from a pair of deficits and an apparent goal being overturned via instant replay, but a season-long mindset of resilience buoyed the Tigers to an important 3-2 win over Brown at Hobey Baker Rink.
Â
Pito Walton netted the game-winner with 8:13 remaining, threading a wrister from the point through traffic for his sixth goal of the season.
Â
In addition to Walton, Jack Cronin and Joe Berg had the goals for the Tigers. Nine different skaters had a point.
Â
Aidan Porter 22 saves in the win.
Â
The Bears got on the board first via a Jordan Tonelli one-timer 7:03 into the game. He slipped free off a line change, finding open space in the high slot and quickly sending a Ryan Bottrill pass from behind the net home.
Â
The Tigers would answer before the end of the period, Joe Berg digging free the rebound of a David Ma point shot and tucking it by Jacob Zacharewicz with 1:13 remaining in the first period.
Â
Princeton again found the equalizer before the end of a period with a Jack Cronin goal in the final minute. Ian Murphy brought the puck out from behind the net, funneling it towards goal where Liam Gorman knocked it loose towards Cronin who swatted it home.
Â
Undeterred, the Tigers scored just under three minutes later as Walton snaked a shot from the point that navigated through bodies and under the bar with assists from Spencer Kersten and Jayden Sison whose forecheck caused havoc down low.

The Tigers appeared to take a one-goal lead just before the midway mark of the third period when Liam Gorman batter the puck into an empty net, but after video review the call was overturned as the net was of its mooring and Gorman's shot was the second attempt.Crobingy Gets Jammy!
