Women's Swimming & Diving Adds Two More Event Titles, Sits in First After Day Three at Ivy Championships

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University women's swimming & diving team had a successful third day at the Ivy League Championships inside DeNunzio Pool Friday, winning three event titles and extending its lead over the rest of the competition to over 200 points.
The Tigers sit in first place with 1025 points while Harvard is second with 794, and Yale third with 768.5.
400 IM
Ellie Marquardt opened the night with a victory in the 400 IM, finishing in 4:12.69. Marquardt's time was the second-fastest time in program history and an NCAA B cut. Meg Wheeler earned a second-place finish and an NCAA B cut, clocking in at 4:13.97 and moved up to No. 6 on Princeton's all-time list, while Emily Appleton finished fourth in 4:15.16, also an NCAA B cut and the ninth-fastest time in school history.
100 Butterfly
Nikki Venema added her second individual title in the 100 butterfly, touching the wall at 51.59 to post an NCAA B cut and the second-fastest time in program history. Heidi Smithwick also earned an NCAA B cut, finishing fourth in 53.95, while Amelia Liu came in fifth in 53.74.
Jaime Chen swam in the B final, finishing sixth with a time of 54.89, as did Isabella Korbly who finished eighth in 57.14. Alexa Pappas also took fourth in the C final, clocking in at 55.17.
200 Freestyle
Marquardt finished second and earned her second NCAA B cut of the night, touching the wall at 1:46.72. Megan Reich and Lewitt swam in the B final, finishing fourth and fifth in 1:49.55 and 1:49.72.
100 Backstroke
Korbly earned a fourth-place finish and an NCAA B cut, clocking in at 53.73, which was the fifth-fastest time in program history. Sabrina Johnston finished sixth in 54.08. Pappas also swam in the A final, finishing seventh with a time of 54.29 and moving up to No. 8 on the Tigers' all-time list.
100 Breaststroke
The Tigers had two advance to the A Final in the 100 breaststroke, with Margaux McDonald finishing third in an NCAA B cut time of 1:01.38, which tied for the second-fastest time in school history, and Eliza Brown fourth in an NCAA B cut time of 1:01.47, which was the third-fastest time in school history.
In the B final, Chen finished fourth with a time of 1:02.86.
400 Medley Relay
The quartet of Korbly, McDonald, Smithwick and Liu finished second in 3:35.70, and set a new program record. The previous school record of 3:37.49 was set at the 2013 Ivy League Championships by Sada Stewart '16, Sarah Furgatch '13, Nikki Larson '16 and Lisa Boyce '14.
3-Meter Diving
In the B Final, Francesca Noviello finished first with a score of 293.50
