Men's Volleyball Nabs First EIVA Win with 3-1 Victory Over Harvard

Princeton, NJ - The Princeton men's volleyball team defeated the Harvard Crimson in a four-set victory in Dillon Gymnasium, 3-1 (25-16, 25-27, 26-24, 25-18) to gain their first EIVA victory at home.
Ben Harrington led the match in kills (17), digs (10), and aces (4). Ryan Vena totaled three blocks for the match, and Henry Wedbush led the Tigers in assists with 46.
Set One
The Tigers opened the match on fire and high energy. A trio of kills from Nyhero Omene contributed to Princeton taking a strong 9-3 lead early in the set.
Princeton kept up the lead thanks to back-to-back Ben Harrington service aces, and more kills from Ryan Vena and Brady Wedbush to help soar the Tigers ahead, 18-7.
Combined with a number of errors from the Crimson, a set point kill from Brady Wedbush allowed Princeton to take set one, 25-16.
Set Two
Unlike set one, the Crimson managed to take an early lead ahead of the Tigers, 4-0. Princeton fought back with kills from Omene and Brady Wedbush, both set by Henry Wedbush.
The set remained a point-for-point contest with a kill from Ben Harrington tying things up for the Tigers at 10-10. The set remain evenly matched, becoming tied again at 19-19 due to more errors and Harrington kills, but Harvard outlasted Princeton to take the set, 27-25 despite a hard-fought effort
Set Three
Princeton was ready to take the lead in set three. The set saw another back-and-forth battle, tying at 4-4 and continuing to 8-8 thanks to more kills from Brady Wedbush and Ben Harrington. Princeton was then able to take a 4-point streak thanks to kills from Vena and Harrington and found their momentum as a team. Another kill from Harrington put Princeton ahead 22-21, and a trio of Harvard errors handed Princeton the set 26-24, and a match lead of 2-1.
Set Four
The Tigers were ready to take care of business on their home court and win set four and the match. Like the previous sets, the Crimson and Tigers battled head-to-head, tying at 10-10. The scoring pattern continued until Princeton record a seven-point scoring streak to take the lead 20-16. Harvard errors complimented kills from Omene and Brady Wedbush to keep the Tigers on top.
A Nyherowo Omene ace was the key to closing out set four in favor of Princeton to give the Tigers the win 25-18, and the match overall 3-1.
