More Honors: Finlay Named To USILA Team Of The Week

Ben Finlay did something this past Saturday that no other player has been able to do the last three seasons. His performance did not go unnoticed.

Finlay, a Princeton senior defenseman, has been named to the USILA Team of the Week after holding Yale first-team All-American attackman Matt Brandau without a goal in Princeton's 23-10 win this past Saturday to snap a four-game losing streak. Brandau had scored at least one goal in all 45 games of his career prior to the matchup against Finlay.

In addition to Finlay's honor, Princeton also had the Ivy League Player of the Week, which went to Coulter Mackesy after his eight-goal, two-assist performance in the same game.

Finlay has started every game of his career but has flown under the radar for most of that time. In fact, he was not even an honorable mention All-Ivy League selection last year, when Princeton reached the FInal Four. His performance against Brandau was hardly his first shutdown game.

The next test for Finlay and his teammates will be Saturday at 1 against Brown, who comes into the game after a win Monday over No. 6 Villanova.
