Men's Golf Team to Open NCAA Norman Regional Monday

The course will play at a par of 72 with a length of 7,452 yards for the event, and play is set for a 11 a.m. CT/12 p.m. ET start Monday with one round each day through Wednesday. Princeton's first round is set to begin at 12:50 p.m. CT/1:50 p.m. ET.

The field is a strong one, with 11 of the 14 teams in the Golfstat top 100 and five teams in the top 30. There are 40 Golfstat top-250 players in the field, with four of those among the individual bids and the other 36 spread across 11 of the 14 teams.
Ivy League Rookie of the Year Riccardo Fantinelli, William Huang and Jackson Fretty, all first-team All-Ivy League honorees from their top-five finishes at the Ivy League Championships last month, where Fantinelli medaled, will represent the Tigers at the NCAA regionals, as will Max Ting and Henry Dubiel as the Tigers use the same five that won the Ivy League Championship by 18 strokes.
Notes on the Tigers:
• This is the first NCAA Regional for any Tiger in the lineup aside from Max Ting, who was part of the 2019 regional lineup. Head coach Will Green is coaching in his ninth NCAA Regional after taking over as head coach in 1999-2000. Green won his first Ivy Coach of the Year honor this year since the award was inaugurated in 2015.
• Princeton is third behind Yale (21) and Houston (16) with 12 NCAA Championships.
• Seven Tigers have won the NCAA indvidual title, fifth-most behind Yale, Harvard, Houston and Oklahoma State. All were between 1897 and 1931.
• Princeton's last trip to the NCAA finals was in 1980, and the team's last regional was in 2019.
Riccardo Fantinelli, Fr., Rome, Italy
• 2023 Ivy League Championship medalist, Princeton's first since 2015, 15th in tournament history, third Princeton freshman to do so, and first Princeton freshman since 2000
• 2023 first-team All-Ivy League
• Competed in six events
• In addition to the Ivy League medalist honor, won the individual event at The Prestige at The Golf Club at Terra Lago's North Course in Indio, Calif., Feb. 22
• Low round of 69 happened on six occasions, most recently to close the Ivy League Championships
• Led Princeton in two tournaments this year, at Duke's Rod Myers Invitational in the fall and at the Ivy League Championships
• Stroke average of 72.83 in 2022-23

• Along with the Ivy tournament, top finish was fourth at the Georgetown Hoya Invitational
• Low round of 69 happened four times, most recently to close the Ivy League Championships
• Stroke average of 74.38 in 2022-23
Jackson Fretty, Jr., Cos Cob, Conn.
• 2023 first-team All-Ivy League
• Competed in every event and had two top-10 finishes, at the last two events of the season with a tie for seventh at the Princeton Invitational, leading the team, and a third-place finish at the Ivy tournament
• Low round of 66 came in the second round of the Ivy tournament, tying a course record at the Stanwich Club in Greenwich, Conn.
• Stroke average of 75.14 in 2022-23
Max Ting, Sr., Atherton, Calif.
• 2019 Ivy League Rookie of the Year
• 2019, 2022 second-team All-Ivy League
• Lone Tiger in the lineup to have competed in an NCAA regional, tying for 67th at +21 at the Georgia-hosted regional in 2019
• Competed in five events between the fall and spring
• Low round of 70 came in the second round of William & Mary's Golden Horseshoe, leading to his best finish in 2022-23 of a 12th-place tie
• Stroke average of 76.47 in 2022-23
Henry Dubiel, Jr., North Palm Beach, Fla.
• Competed in five events between the fall and spring
• Low round of 71 came in the first round of the Princeton Invitational
