No. 5 Men's Water Polo Sweeps NWPC Awards; Preps For Bucknell Invite

PRINCETON – As the No. 5 Princeton Men's Water Polo Team preps for the Bucknell Invitational, the team found it swept the Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) weekly awards.
Vladan Mitrovic (Player), West Temkin (Defensive) and Kristóf Kovács (Rookie) picked up weekly accolades. Mitrovic recorded four consecutive hat tricks and 16 goals in total in five wins for the Tigers. Temkin earned three wins with eight saves vs. No. 16 Cal Baptist, seven stops vs. No. 19 Santa Clara and seven more saves vs. Chapman. Kovacs picked up two decisions, nabbing six shots vs. Wagner and a season-best 15 stops vs. No. 20 Fordham.
The Tigers make the trip to the Bucknell Invitational on Saturday to take on the Air Force Falcons (11:20 a.m.) and the host Bison (3:20)
Mitrovic (18), Roko Pozaric (17) and George Caras (13) have each posted at least 10 goals with six others recording at least five tallies and three more with four goals. Pozaric leads the team with 27 points along with 24 sprint victories.
Temkin has a .609 save percentage and 39 stops in four starts while Kovacs has 25 stops in three contests.
Princeton is 7-2 overall against Air Force and has not lost to the Falcons since 2016. The Tigers have not lost to the Bison since 2019 and have a 49-16 record against the host school.
