Women’s Rugby to Host Mount St. Mary’s in Home Opener

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University women's rugby team will host Mount St. Mary's in its home opener of its second season at the varsity level Saturday.
Shuttle Information
Shuttles will run continuously from Wawa to the field from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. GPS Address: West Windsor Fields, Tiger Ln, Princeton, N.J. 08540.
Fans riding the shuttle van are to return to the vans for shelter. They are parked on Washington Road as you exit the field.
Parking Information
In the event of inclement weather, fans are encouraged to seek shelter in personal vehicles.
The Upperclassmen
The Tigers will have 16 upperclassmen in 2023-24 including seniors Leilani Bender, Jane Castleman, Jessica Cui, Laura Esguerra, Kateri Espinosa, and Sophia Villacorta. Juniors include Brooke Beers, Erica De San Jorge, Sofie Grouws, Zoë Koniaris, Elizabeth Polubinski and Amelia Sanchirico.
The Freshmen
Princeton's sophomores Alayshja Bable, Amelia Clarke, Kenzy Elshazly and Caroline Maguire.
The Tigers will also welcome 12 freshmen in 2023: Alyssa Brigham, Luiza Chevres, Annabelle Edwards, Vivian Gilman, Samantha Handwerk, Megan Hickey, Malinka Kwemo, Ciara Loughran, Hannah Mulligan, Nanya Offor, Caroline Schückel and Celia Watson.
International Experience
Amelia Clarke was selected for the USA Rugby Women's U20 team over the summer and played in matches against Canada and Wales.
Academic Excellence
Princeton excelled in the classroom during its first varsity campaign and had six players named to the NIRA All-Academic Team: Brooke Beers, Leilani Bender, Elizabeth Polubinski, Sofie Grouws, Sophia Villacorta and Kateri Espinosa.
Scouting Mount St. Mary's
The Mountaineers have an 0-1 record on the season, falling 18-0 to LIU in their season opener in Brookville, New York, on Sept. 2.
