Seven Tigers Earn All-Ivy Honors

PRINCETON, N.J. – Three Tigers received All-Ivy honors, the Ivy League announced on Wednesday. Giuliano Fravolini Whitchurch was named to the First Team All-Ivy, while Daniel Ittycheria and Jack Jasinski were named to the Second Team All-Ivy.
Four Tigers were selected to the All-Ivy Honorable Mention list, including Liam Beckwith, Jack Hunt, Nico Nee and Roka Tsunehara.
Whitchurch has been a key piece in the Tiger back line all season, starting all of the Tigers' 16 games and recording 90 minutes in 15. The junior defender has helped Princeton to a goals-against average of just 1.13, the third best in the league. Whitchurch also scored a goal in the Tigers' first game of the season against Rutgers.
Ittycheria leads Princeton this season with six goals and one assist for 13 points on the team. The junior forward ranks third in shots and shots on goal in the Ivy League with 3.44 and 1.50 per game, respectively.
Jasinski leads the Tigers in assists with six on the season so far. The junior midfielder-defender has started and played 90 minutes in 15 games this season, while also helping secure a key Tiger victory against Yale with a free-kick goal that put Princeton up 1-0. His performance earned Jasinski the honor of Ivy Defensive Player of the Week on October 28.
Beckwith has been a mainstay in the Tiger midfield, putting up solid performances across his 15 starts this season. The sophomore from San Diego, Calif. has three assists to his credit, being a critical playmaker for Princeton.
Hunt, also a native of California, has been a critical mainstay in the midfield for Princeton across 13 games started this season. The junior has one assist on the season while consistently helping the Tigers achieve success on both ends of the pitch.
Nee has three goals and one assist for seven points on the season, scoring a brace against Dartmouth to secure an important 2-0 win for Princeton. Nee has been a reliable competitor in the Tigers' attacking end, generating chances and performing in critical situations, especially down the stretch this season.
First-year Tsunehara, originally a forward, has been a mainstay in the Tiger back line, starting 13 games for Princeton while seeing action in 15. The Burlingame, Calif. native was named to the TopDrawerSoccer preseason All-Freshman team on August 20 and has delivered with his performance. Tsunehara has one assist to his credit and overall has been a significant contributor to the Tigers' impressive defense this season.
The Tigers will next travel to Philadelphia to face no. 16 Cornell in the semifinals of the Ivy League Tournament on Friday, November 15. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. in Rhodes Field.
