2025 Princeton Men's Lacrosse Schedule
The Princeton men's lacrosse team will be chasing its fourth straight NCAA tournament appearance when the 2025 season kicks off. There will be no shortage of opportunities for the Tigers to prove they belong.
Princeton's 2025 regular season begins at Penn State on Feb. 15 and ends on April 26 at home against Yale. In all it's a 13-game gauntlet that includes six Ivy League opponents, three of whom are ranked in the top 10 of every preseason poll, and seven non-league opponents, four of whom were in the NCAA tournament a year ago. Of the 13 opponents, there are eight who are ranked in the top 17 of the Inside Lacrosse Way Ahead Top 20 — and Princeton, at No. 3, is another in that top 17.
"As we always say, we want to give ourselves two paths into the NCAA tournament," says Princeton's William Tierney Head Coach of Men's Lacrosse Matt Madalon. "We want to try to go the at-large route, and we want to try to win the Ivy League automatic bid. Our schedule this year will challenge us every time out, and we're excited about that."
Princeton reached the 2022 NCAA tournament as an at-large team and then made its way to the Final Four. The 2023 and 2024 Princeton teams won the league's automatic bid by winning the Ivy tournament to advance to the NCAA field again, a year ago as the only Ivy team to make it that far.
Princeton's schedule each year since Madalon became head coach has featured three games in the first eight days, but this year it will be different. Instead, Princeton will open with the Nittany Lions and then have its home opener a week later against Maryland, with full rest before hosting the Terps.
After that, it will be a second-straight year with a trip to Duke and North Carolina, followed by a home game against Rutgers. The remaining two non-league games will be on April 1st and 5th, with home games agianst Lehigh and Vermont. Princeton's Ivy games will go at Cornell, home against Harvard and Brown, at Dartmouth, at Penn and home against Yale.
