Tyler Harris Wins NCAA Elite Student-Athlete Award

The NCAA men's lacrosse Championship Weekend begins Saturday afternoon when top-seeded Princeton faces Duke at noon in the first semifinal at the University of Virgina's Scott Stadium. With the opening face-off 24 hours away, Princeton did pick up the first trophy of the event Friday after its practice.Â
Tyler Harris, a junior defenseman, won the NCAA Elite Scholar-Athlete Award, given to the athlete with the highest overall grade point average at the Championship site in every NCAA sport. Harris won the award, formerly known as the Elite 90, with a nearly perfect GPA in mechanical and aerospace engineering.Â
Colagiovanni, the chair of the NCAA Division I oversight committee for men's lacrosse. The award was given to Harris as a suprise after Princeton's practice on the Scott Stadium grass.Â
