NEWARK, NJ - This evening in Newark, New Jersey, the Princeton men's volleyball team secured a 3-1 victory against NJIT (25-22, 25-20, 24-26, 25-15). Of particular note, the Tigers showcased their strength from behind the service line with 9 team aces during the match, with Ben Harrington contributing 6 of them. Harrington's tally for the season now stands at 51 aces, placing him at the forefront nationally in service aces. In fitting fashion, the senior delivered his sixth service ace on the night on the match point.
Tonight, the Tigers demonstrated skill in blocking, totaling 15 blocks over the Highlanders' 10. Once again, Tristan Whitfield led the team this week with 7 blocks, while Gavin Leising added 6, and Nyherowo Omene contributed 5.
"I'm happy with how our team has been resilient on the road for the past couple of weeks," said head coach Sam Shweisky. "We're looking forward to continuing with EIVA play at George Mason next week and then excited to return to Dillon to conclude the regular season."
The Tigers will face George Mason on the road next weekend on March 30th at 5:00 PM. In their last meeting, Princeton took down the Patriots in straight sets 3-0.
