Princeton Falls At Brown 13-12
April 13, 2024 | Men's Lacrosse
The hole was deep. The climb was tough. The effort was admirable. The end result was frustrating.
Brown goalie Connor Theriault turned aside Princeton's last chance on a shot from Nate Kabiri was time expired to preserve a 13-12 win over Princeton Saturday in Providence. Princeton came back to tie the score at 8-8 after trailing 6-0 in the second quarter and then again at 12-12 after trailing 11-8. The winning goal came with 2:24 to go by Brown's Marcus Wertheim.
Princeton is now 7-4 overall and 2-2 and in fourth place in the Ivy League with two games left, this coming Saturday at home against Penn and then at Yale April 27.
The Tigers, who hadn't played in 11 days, started slowly, trailing 3-0 at the end of the first and 6-0 after nearly 23 minutes before John Dunphey got the team on the board. Princeton spent the entire afternoon trying to push the rock up the hill but could never take the lead.
Princeton had five players with two goals each: Tucker Wade, Tommy Barnds, Coulter Mackesy, Colin Burns and Chad Palumbo. Nate Kabiri didn't score but did have four assists.
