Hamza Wraps Competition at Third Olympics

Mohamed Hamza '23 finished competition at his third Olympic games on Sunday as the Egyptian men's foil team finished eighth.
Earlier in the Games, Hamza made the individual quarterfinals for the second straight Olympics. Hamza competed only in the team portion in his first Games in 2016, doing so at the age of 15.
Egypt opened this year's team event with a 45-35 loss to the U.S., with Hamza scoring 11 of the touches. A 45-36 loss to Poland followed, with Hamza getting eight touches. The seventh-place match saw Canada defeat Egypt 45-38 with Hamza getting 15 touches and winning two of his three bouts.
At Princeton, Hamza was a three-time All-American, closing his career with an NCAA runner-up finish in 2023.
