Mackesy Named Preseason First-Team IL All-American; Four Tigers Honored
January 30, 2025 | Men's Lacrosse
Coulter Mackesy has been named a preseason first-team All-American by Inside Lacrosse. The senior attackman is one of four Princeton players who earned preseason All-American honors, the magazine announced Thursday morning.
Colin Mulshine, a senior defenseman, was a third-team selection, while sophomore attackman Nate Kabiri and junior face-off man Andrew McMeekin were honorable mention picks.
Mackesy set the program record for goals in a season with 55 as a sophomore and then had 40 more last year (along with 24 assists), giving him 123 goals as he enters the 2025 season. The Princeton career record of 163 was set by Jesse Hubbard in 1998.
Mulshine was a first-team All-Ivy League selection last year, when he established himself as one of the best cover defenders in the country and a very likely PLL draft choice this coming year.
Kabiri had a freshman year of 32 goals and a team-best 25 assists, leaving him second all-time among Princeton freshmen in goals and points (57). McMeekin a year ago won better than 55 percent of his face-offs with a program record 132 ground balls while earning Most Outstanding Player honors at the Ivy League tournament.
Princeton opens the 2025 season at Penn State on Feb. 15. The Tigers, ranked in the top five nationally in every preseason poll, will be looking for their fourth straight trip to the NCAA tournament.
