Men's Golf Sits Second After Day One At St. Andrews

Princeton is in position to move through to the Championship Match at the 2025 St. Andrews Links Collegiate as the Tigers (-3) are one stroke behind Michigan State (-4) and three ahead of Cal (E) after the first day of play.
Riccardo Fantinelli, who didn't arrive in Scotland until 9:00 p.m. the night before after representing Italy at the 2025 World Amateur Team Championship in Singapore, shot a 67 (-3) to settle in to second place in the individual race as well. He is one shot behind Michigan State's Lorenzo Pinilli who was -4 in the first round. Fantinelli had four total birdies, two on each side, to pace his round.
Reed Greyserman is one shot back of Fantinelli and two off the lead after an opening 68 (-2) that featured three birdies. Eric Zhao is T7 after an even-par opening round, while Charlie Palmer and Eric Yun each were one-over.
The final round of individual stroke play which will determine the medalist for the event and set the seeding for the final day starts at 10:42 a.m. in Scotland and 5:42 a.m. in New Jersey.
