Crista Samaras Selected To National Lacrosse Hall Of Fame
October 23, 2025 | Women's Lacrosse
Crista Samaras has been a lacrosse player, a coach, a businesswoman, a broadcaster, an inventor, a fashion designer and a motivational speaker. To that impressive list you can now add one more achievement, and it's her biggest one to date:
Â
Hall of Famer.
Â
Samaras is a member of the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame Class of 2025, it was announced today by USA Lacrosse. Samaras and the other members of this class will be inducted on Jan. 10, 2026, in Baltimore.
Â
A member of the Princeton Class of 1999, Samaras will be the third member of the Tiger women's lacrosse program to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, along with former head coach Chris Sailer and Tewaaraton Award winner Rachael Becker Dececco. Here is Samaras' blurb from the official USA Lacrosse release:
Â
Being inducted as a truly great player, Samaras graduated from Princeton in 1999 ranked first on both the school's career goals list (189) and career points list (270). She was a three-time All-American attacker, including first team honors in 1998 & 1999. Samaras was also a two-time Ivy League Player of the Year (1998, 1999), as well as the Ivy Rookie of the Year in 1996. Samaras was selected to the NCAA's All-Tournament team twice, and played on the 2001 and 2005 U.S. Women's World Cup teams, winning gold in 2001 and silver in 2005.
Â
Samaras, who serves as the color commentator for Princeton women's lacrosse home games on ESPN+, is still third all-time in points and fourth in goals, despite playing in an era with no shot clock and when goal-scoring numbers were not as high as they are today.
Â
In addition to Samaras, the other inductees will be Ned Crotty, Matt Danowski, Leif Elsmo, Margaret Faulkner, Tom Flatley (posthumous), Christie Jenkins Kemezis, Crista Samaras, and Kristin Sommar Jenney.
The newest members will be officially inducted during a dinner ceremony at the M&T Bank Exchange in Baltimore on Saturday, January 10, 2026. Tickets for the event are available for online purchase at www.usalacrosse.com/hof.
