Women’s Rugby Announces 2025 Spring Schedule
February 11, 2025 | Women's Rugby
Full Schedule
PRINCETON, N.J. – Head Coach Josie Ziluca announced the Princeton University women's rugby team's 2025 spring schedule Tuesday afternoon.
"The women's rugby team is gearing up for a full spring of rugby, laden with 7s tournaments as well as an exhibition XVs match during the Meadows campus Grand Opening weekend. We'll be seeing a lot of familiar opponents and expanding our Emperor 7s home tournament to a couple more Ivy teams. Our squad is coming off the best varsity fall season we've had so far, along with a memorable and galvanizing international tour to Italy in January before the Spring semester classes begun.
We're looking forward the continuation of our rugby development and creation of space in the varsity rugby world. Every week this team improves, so I'm looking forward to seeing more of that this semester. It takes an open mind and a kind heart to show up to training sessions week after week and push yourself, your limits, and compete with the best rugby athletes in the nation. Our players have committed themselves to improve everyday within their rugby knowledge, personal habits, and selfless passion to better this team.
Our first two 7s tournaments, beginning at the end of March, see us on the road at the Naval Academy and at West Chester University. We will then host a full day of 7s matches at Haaga House and Rickerson field at Meadows campus on Apr. 6. This will be an all-day affair, so pack the chairs and snacks! The following weekend, the team will have break before heading up to Cambridge, MA the following weekend to compete in the Ivy 7s Championship. Apr. 26 we'll be taking on Sacred Heart in an exhibition XVs match, celebrating or Meadows campus space, facilities, and the proud alumni who have helped make this all happen! If all things trend well this spring season, then you'll be cheering for your Tigers as they head to the USA Rugby Collegiate 7s Championship in early May.
There is so much to be proud of, the path that has led us here today, but we have so much ahead of us. Our journey is not taken alone, but with our entire community, so please come out to our matches and support these hard-working women making history!"
