David Ma Named ECAC Defender Of The Week
February 03, 2025 | Men's Ice Hockey
Junior defenseman David Ma was a factor on both ends of the ice this weekend, earning his first career selection as ECAC Defender of the Week for his efforts in Princeton's first sweep at Harvrd and Dartmouth since 2010.
Ma had a goal and two assists on Friday night in a 4-3 win in overtime against Harvard. He opened the scoring for the Tigers, and then dished out two assists -- including on the OT game-winner following a blocked shot in the defensive end.
While he was held off the scoresheet on Saturday at Dartmouth, he logged a lot of minutes following an injury to a Princeton defenseman 0:20 into the game and keyed the Tigers to a 3-1 win over No. 19 Dartmouth. Along the way, Ma helped the Tigers kill off three Dartmouth power plays in the second period -- including 0:56 of a 5-on-3.
Ma and the Tigers return to Baker Rink for a pair of games against Clarkson (February 7) and St. Lawrence (February 8) at 7 p.m.
