February 05, 2025 | Women's Lacrosse
Three seniors have been named tri-captains for the Princeton women's lacrosse team heading into the 2025 season with McKenzie Blake, Sarah Nelson and Sam Whiting slated to lead the Tigers into the upcoming campaign.
The trio has been a part of an Ivy League championship and an Ivy League Tournament title in 2022, and has helped the Tigers to a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances in 2022 and 2024.
"We are excited to have McKenzie, Sarah and Sam lead us as tri-captains this year," said third-year head coach Jenn Cook. "On the field and off, they exemplify what it means to be a Princeton Tiger. They embrace the opportunities and challenges that come their way during a season, support and encourage their teammates, and represent the tradition of this program proudly. They've done a tremendous job as leaders throughout the fall and preseason, I can't wait to watch them bring that leadership to the games."
The trio will step onto the field for the first time as captains on February 15 when the Tigers host Virginia in the season opener at Class of 1952 Stadium at Sherrerd Field to open a run where the Tigers iwll play five of their first six games of the season at home.
