Women's Lacrosse Sweeps Ivy League Weekly Honors
March 10, 2025 | Women's Lacrosse
Princeton had a plethora of standout performances in a 2-0 week that saw the Tigers outscore their opponents by a 36-13 margin, but two stood out above the rest and earned Ivy League weekly honors.
Jami MacDonald was a consistent threat on the attacking end to pick up Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Amelia Hughes stood tall in goal all week to earn Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week distinction.
MacDonald was dangerous in both games, tallying 16 total points. It was Saturday's performance against No. 22 Harvard that made it clear she was the Ivy League's best offensive player this past week, though.
On Saturday, MacDonald tied the program record with 10 points -- becoming the fourth player in program history to reach that mark and first since 1989. She was evenly split between five goals and five assists and was 2-for-2 on free positions.
All total for the week, MacDonald had seven goals, nine assists, four caused turnovers and two ground balls. Her work this past week has moved her into 20th place in the country in points-per-game (5.0).
At the other end of the field, Amelia Hughes stopped 19 of 32 shots faced for a .594 save percentage during the week and a 6.50 GAA. She now leads the Ivy League in saves (50) and save percentage (.500) this season.
