
No. 19 Men's Volleyball Downs Daemen, 3-1

PRINCETON, N.J. – The No. 19 Princeton University men's volleyball team earned a 3-1(25-18, 25-18, 19-25, 25-22) victory over Daemen Saturday afternoon inside Dillon Gymnasium in the Tigers' final non-conference match of the 2025 regular season.
Princeton, who hit .358 as a team, were led by Nyherowo Omene, who recorded a team-high 18 kills on a .556 hitting percentage along with a match-high five service aces and four digs. Andrew Werner added nine kills, while Henry Wedbush handed out a team-high 31 assists and had a match-high four blocks along with seven digs, which tied the match-high.
While Daemen took an early 12-11 advantage, a kill by Ryan Vena ignited a 6-0 run, that included three consecutive Omene service aces, that pushed Princeton in front by five, 17-12. It was Omene who gave Princeton set point at 24-17, then a Wildcat service error gave the Tigers the 25-18 first set victory. Omene made his presence felt, tallying seven kills on a .600 hitting percentage along with three service aces in the first set.
Princeton set the tone early in the second set, opening it with a 5-0 run. The Tigers took a double figure advantage at 14-4 following kills by Werner and Tristan Whitfield then extended it to 11, 16-5, after a pair of Daemen attacking errors. The Wildcats gained some momentum late, but Princeton held on for the 25-18 second set triumph with Werner delivering the kill on set point.
The Wildcats used a 4-0 run to jump ahead, 6-3, early in the third set. A Wedbush kill kept it a two-point set at 15-13, but the Wildcats used another 4-0 run to get ahead, 19-13. Daemen would win its first set of the match, 25-19, making it 2-1 in the match.
A pair of Omene kills along with a Daemen attacking error saw Princeton take a 3-0 lead in the fourth set, however, the Wildcats would take a 6-5 advantage after a 4-0 run of their own. Princeton and Daemen would trade points back-and-forth until a kill by Vena sparked a 5-0 run that pushed the Tigers in front, 18-15. A kill by Jameson Vaccaro gave Princeton match point at 24-22, then a service ace by Nolan Kelly secured the set for the Tigers, 25-22, along with the match, 3-1.
