Sun and Tucker Earn All-American Status As Women’s Swimming & Diving Concludes NCAA Championships

FEDERAL WAY, Wash.- The Princeton University women's swimming and diving team sent eight members from its roster to compete in the 2025 NCAA championships.
Eleanor Sun and Dakota Tucker both earned All-American Honorable Mention in the 400 IM, the program's first All-Americans since 2014. This also marks the first time since 2010 that Princeton has at least two All-Americans in a season. The pair earned the honors by reaching the consolation finals in which Sun placed 12th and Tucker 16th.
The meet kicked off with the 800 free relay on Wednesday night as Sabrina Johnston, Jenna Walters, Eleanor Sun and Heidi Smithwick touched the wall at 7:06.40.
On Thursday, Sun took 20th in the 200 IM prelims, clocking in at 1:55.91. Smithwick swam the 500 IM prelims, touching the wall with a time of 4:47.44.
In the 1M dive prelims, Charlotte Martinkus took 33rd with a score of 252.35. Closing out day two, a Princeton squad of Sabrina Johnston, Ella Noble, Veronique Rossouw and Smithwick clocked in at 1:29.46 in the 200 free relay.
Moving into Friday, Smithwick started the day in the 100 fly prelims with a time of 53.60. Sun and Tucker then impressed in the 400 IM prelims, qualifying for the final with times of 4:06.01 and 4:07.07.
Martinkus competed again in the 3M dive finals on Friday, earning a score of 264.80.
In the 200 breast prelims on Saturday, Tucker clocked in at 2:12.97. Smithwick and Sun again put on solid performances in the 200 fly prelims with times of 1:55.80 and 1:55.94, respectively.
With the tournament coming to a close, Princeton now concludes a season that saw the program make history with the Tigers' third consecutive Ivy title, multiple All-America honors, and numerous records broken.
