NCAA Regional Ahead on Saturday for Fencers
March 05, 2025 | General, Men's Fencing, Women's Fencing
A trip to North Jersey is ahead on Saturday for the Princeton fencing teams when they head to Drew for the NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South regional.
Competition will start at 9 a.m. for épée and foil, 11 a.m. for men's saber, and 12 p.m. for women's saber. Results will be available here.
The regionals account for 60 percent of the results that determine selection to the NCAA championships, while regular-season results account for the other 40 percent. The region will get seven NCAA bids in men's and women's foil and women's saber, and six bids in men's and women's épée and men's saber. NCAA selections will be announced on Tuesday, and the NCAA championships will be held March 20-23 at Penn State.
Competing alongside the Tigers for those bids will be fencers from Drew, Duke, Fairleigh Dickinson (women), Haverford, Johns Hopkins, Lafayette, NJIT, North Carolina, Penn, Penn State, Stevens, Temple (women) and Wagner.
Princeton has four past regional champions on its roster this year, including 2022 foil champ Maia Weintraub, 2023 saber champ Ronald Anglade, 2023 épée champ Hadley Husisian, and 2024 épée champ Jessica Lin.
