Women's Lacrosse Draws UMass To Open NCAA Tournament

For the second season in a row and 30th time overall, Princeton has heard its named called among the teams qualified for the NCAA Division I Women's Lacrosse Tournament as the Tigers will head to Homewood Field to take on Massachusetts in a NCAA First Round game hosted by Johns Hopkins on May 9 at 5 p.m.
Princeton, the Ivy League's regular season champions who bring a 14-3 overall record to the national tournament. The winner of the Princeton-UMass game will take on the winner of host and No. 8 seed Johns Hopkins and Liberty.
The Tigers have qualified for five of a possible six NCAA Tournaments since 2017, and in each of those five most recent NCAA Tournaments Princeton has won at least one game. Last season, the Tigers defeated Drexel, 14-9, in the first round before a 21-16 loss to No. 2 seed and eventual national champion Boston College in the second round.
Princeton and UMass have met twice before -- each time in the NCAA Tournament. UMass took the first meeting, 13-12, in overtime in 2016. The last meeting was in the 2022 NCAA Tournament, a 15-9 win for Princeton at Sherrerd Field.
