Coulter Mackesy Named Finalist For Tewaaraton Award; Seven Tigers Named USA Lacrosse All-American
May 08, 2025 | Men's Lacrosse
Coulter Mackesy has been named one of five finalists for the Tewaaraton Award, the highest individual honor in college lacrosse. The winner of the award will be announced May 29 in Washington, D.C.
Mackesy was also named a first-team All-American by USA Lacrosse as Princeton had seven selections in all. Defenseman Colin Mulshine was a second-team selection, and SSDM Cooper Mueller and offensive midfielder Chad Palumbo were third-team picks. Princeton's three honorable mention selections were goalie Ryan Croddick, SSDM Jackson Green and offensive midfielder Tucker Wade.
Mackesy has put together a 40-goal, 15-assist season to earn unanimous first-team All-Ivy League honors. He is currently tied with Jesse Hubbard with 163 career goals, the most in program history, and he and Hubbard are the only two Tiger plays ever with three seasons of 40 or more goals.
In addition, Mackesy now has 240 career points, leaving him seven away from tying Kevin Lowe for second all-time at Princeton. He was the fourth overall selection in the PLL Draft this week, chosen by the Boston Cannons.
The Tigers earned the No. 3 seed in the NCAA tournament and a home game Saturday against unseeded Towson at 2:30.
