
No. 10 Men’s Water Polo Starts Navy Invitational With Win Over Salem

ANNAPOLIS, Md.- The Princeton men's water polo team hit the road for the first time this season for the Navy Invitational.
Princeton faced Salem, a 2024 NCAA Tournament team, to start the weekend in Annapolis and poured on 14 second half goals to secure a 21-8 victory.
Princeton 21, Salem 8
Ádám Peocz's first goal of the night allowed Princeton to strike first followed by a goal from Logan McCarroll.
Salem was able to get on the board but Otto Stothart responded to bump the lead back to two goals.
In the second quarter, Salem again made it a one goal game with a score of 4-3. Goals from Stothart, Peocz and JP Ohl helped to keep Salem at bay going into the halftime break up 7-4.
Although Salem tried to get back into the game once more, Princeton led by Logan McCarroll's four-goal third quarter put the opposing Tigers away for good. Princeton had five different scorers combine for eight tallies in the quarter.
McCarroll racked up five goals on the night followed by a hat trick from Peocz to secure the 21-8 win.
Kristóf Kovács made 11 stops in the cage, good for his fourth double-digit save performance of the season.
