Princeton stands 2-2 on the season, returning from the break for first-semester finals and the holidays with a 7-2 defeat at No. 4 Virginia last Saturday.
The Bulldogs eliminated the Tigers in the Potter Cup semifinals last year, 6-3 in Philadelphia, after Princeton won the regular-season meeting 5-4 at the Racquet and Recreation Center. Princeton's last visit to New Haven, in 2024, saw the Bulldogs win 7-2 just a match before Princeton won the Jadwin Gym finale over Penn to share the Ivy League title. Princeton won last year's meeting with Trinity 7-2 at the Racquet and Recreation Center after Trinity won two years ago in Hartford.
Yale is 2-1, adding a win over MIT on Tuesday in its first match back from break to a win over Drexel in its final match of 2025 after a season-opening loss to Virginia. Trinity, which will host Penn on Saturday in its first competitive match of 2026, enters the weekend at 5-0 with wins over Williams, Tufts, Cornell, Bates and Bowdoin.
Following the weekend, the CSA Individual Championships are up next, beginning Jan. 23.
