PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton men's volleyball team is set to open the 2026 season with a trip to California to take on UC Irvine and USC this Wednesday and Friday.
The Tigers and the Anteaters will face off at 6:00 p.m. PST tomorrow, before the Tigers take on the Trojans on Friday at 7:00 p.m. PST.
Princeton enters this week's contests after a preseason trip to Canada, where the Tigers took home two exhibition wins over TMU and McMaster.
The Tigers, the 2025 EIVA regular-season champions, were picked to finish fourth in the EIVA preseason poll. Mason Rice and Ryan Vena were named EIVA players to watch.
Senior captain Vena was a 2025 First Team All-EIVA honoree after finishing the season ranked eighth in the EIVA and second on the team in blocks with 79.0 total for 0.92 per set. He also had 129 kills on 231 attempts for a hitting percentage of .468.
Rice, entering his sophomore year, was a 2025 Second Team All-EIVA honoree after averaging 2.97 kills per set his freshman season. He also tallied 63 blocks and 82 digs on the year.
The Tigers are led by Head Coach Sam Shweisky, in his 17th year at the helm of the program.
