Men's Hockey Falls At Colgate, 2-0

A tight contest at Class of 1965 Arena saw No. 18/18 Princeton come up just short in a 2-0 loss to Colgate.
Shots were practically even, 30-28, in favor of Colgate and faceoffs were 30-30 in the way of Princeton.
The Tigers were 4-of-4 on the penalty kill, while Colgate was 3-for-3.
The Tigers and Raiders played an even first period, with Princeton building the slightest of edges in shots, 11-10, after one period of play and the two teams even on faceoffs at 9-9.
Colgate finally broke the scoreless tie with 6:17 to go in the second period via a Simon Labelle goal. After the Tigers won a draw inside their own defensive zone, Colgate forced a turnover and the puck found its way to Labelle open in the high slot for a quick shot that Smith got a piece of with his blocker but trickled over the line to give the hosts the lead.
A long-distance bank shot empty-netter from Ryan Sullivan with 1:55 to go provided an insurance tally for the Raiders.
Princeton is back on the road next weekend, heading to Bentley for games on January 23 and 24.
