Jayden Sison Named 1 Of 12 Nominees For Hockey Humanitarian Award
January 20, 2026 | Men's Ice Hockey
Jayden Sison, a senior on the Princeton men's ice hockey team, has been named one of 12 nominees for the Hockey Humanitarian Award as announced by the Hockey Humanitarian Award Foundation. The award is presented annually to college hockey's finest citizen — a student-athlete who makes significant contributions not only to his or her team but also to the community-at-large through leadership in volunteerism.Â
Sison, who has spent time at both forward and defense for the Tigers over his four year career, has displayed that same selflessness and willingness to serves those around him while away from the rink.
A member of Princeton Athletics' Student-Athlete Service Council (SASC), Sison has led by example within his team and across Princeton Athletics through leadership roles with Team IMPACT, Tiger Pals, and multiple Princeton Varsity Club initiatives.
Outside of his efforts within the Princeton community, Sison has spent time with the Ed Snider Youth Hockey & Education foundation as a Program Delivery Intern where he helped coordinate and execute special events in Philadelphia to facilitate personal, academic, and athletic growth for participants across his hometown area.
"Jayden is a true embodiment of Princeton Athletics' motto of 'Achieve. Serve. Lead.' and our entire program is thrilled for him to be one of the nominees for the Hockey Humanitarian Award," said head coach Ben Syer. "He is a prime example of giving back to one's community, whether it has been in the Philly community that helped raise him and get him to Princeton or in his home the past four years on and around Princeton's campus. He has an ability to connect with everyone, and his personal relationships with the young people he is working with are remarkable. We're proud to have him as a Tiger."
Sison is the lone ECAC men's or women's hockey player among the 12 nominees which draws applications from all levels of collegiate hockey.Â
