Princeton (2-1), No. 8 in the nation, had wins over No. 18 Western Ontario and No. 12 Williams around a loss to No. 8 Drexel in the 2025 portion of the schedule. Aly Ibrahim leads the Tigers at 3-0 on the season with all three wins coming at the third position.
Virginia, ranked No. 4 in the nation, enters the match at 7-2, winning its first six matches of the season, including against three of Princeton's Ivy League foes in Dartmouth, Yale and Columbia before losses to Penn and Harvard. A win over Cornell was the Cavaliers' last match, on Dec. 6.
Princeton is 8-1 all-time against the Cavaliers, with all nine matches coming since the 2017-18 season, and has won seven in a row in the series since the lone loss, which came to open the 2018-19 season.
Following the match, Princeton will start Ivy League play with a visit to Yale on Jan. 17.
