Tigers Rewrite the Record Book on Day Two of Ivy Championships

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Day two of the Ivy League Championship was one full of emotions for the Princeton University women's swimming & diving team as the Tigers sit in first place in the team standings, won four out of the five events contested, earned two automatic qualifiers to the NCAA Championships and set two pool records along with an Ivy Meet record.
Princeton has 532 points to sit atop the standings while Harvard is second with 446.5 and Brown third with 399.5.
The evening began with the team being honored for capturing the Ivy League dual meet title. Princeton finished a perfect 7–0 in Ivy competition and an impressive 12–0 overall this season.
The momentum only continued to build as Eleanor Sun set a new pool record in the 200 individual medley with a time of 1:55.62.
Sabrina Johnston followed with claiming the 50 freestyle title in 22.07, matching both the school and pool records with her winning touch.
With their record breaking performances, Sun and Johnston both automatically punched their tickets to the NCAA Championships.
Charlotte Martinkus also clinched a champion title in 1 meter diving with a score of 318.45, setting both the pool record and the Ivy League Meet record.
The quartet of Johnston, Sophia Sunwoo, Edie Simecek, and Veronique Rossouw closed the session in dominant fashion, splitting their way to gold in the 200 freestyle relay while breaking the pool record with a time of 1:28.31.
Competition resumes tomorrow with prelims beginning at 11:00 AM, followed by finals at 6:00 PM.
