Men's Hockey Downed By Harvard, 5-3
February 27, 2026 | Men's Ice Hockey
Harvard scored twice in a span of 0:33 early in the third period to flip a one-goal Princeton lead en route to a 5-3 Crimson win at the Bright-Landry Center.
Joshua Karnish, Brendan Gorman and Kai Daniells each scored for Princeton. Daniells added an assist for a multi-point night to improve his point total this season to 31 in 29 games.
Princeton and Harvard are now tied for fourth place in the ECAC standings with one game to play. Both teams have 35 points. Union is two points back with 33 points.
Princeton evened the game with 4:56 to play in the opening period when Joshua Karnish broke in alone on Charette to net his second goal of the season and second in as many games. A stretch pass from Malcolm Green was touched forward by Kevin Anderson to spring Karnish whose initial shot was stopped by Charette before the rebound bounced straight up in the air and over the goalie's back to cross just over the line and tie the game.
Daniells extended Princeton's lead to 3-1 with his team-leading 16th goal of the season with 8:08 to play in the second period. The Tigers worked extended zone time, and eventually a Seamus Latta forecheck led to a loose puck finding the stick of Daniells who quickly fired a puck under Charette's right pad.
Harvard scored twice in a span of 0:33 early in the second period to take a one-goal lead of their own.
First it was Heiki Ruohonen who tucked in a loose puck after Smith made the original stop 1:54 into the third. Just over half a minute later, Justin Solovey fired a snapshot through traffic and over Smith's right shoulder to regain the lead for Harvard.
An empty-net goal from Mason Langenbrunner with 10 seconds to play provided the final margin.
Princeton finishes the regular season with a trip to Thompson Arena to take on No. 12/14 Dartmouth at 7 p.m.

Harvard scored first after a sustained power play opportunity resulted in a Michael Callow goal 6:55 into the opening period. The Crimson took six shots on that power play, with Callow slapping home his first goal of the season from the top of the left circle. We've Got A Fast Kar-nish!

The Tigers went on to take a 2-1 lead with 2:32 to play in the first as they capitalized on a 5-on-3 power play via the stick of Brendan Gorman. After the Crimson were called for too many men while killing an initial penalty, Kai Daniells had a shot from the right wing denied, but the rebound carried directly to Gorman who one-timed the second chance for his sixth power-play goal of the season.I ????
