Chad Palumbo Selected Seventh Overall In PLL Draft

Chad is heading for the Chaos.

Princeton senior attackman Chad Palumbo was chosen by the Carolina Chaos with the seventh pick of the first round of the Premier Lacrosse League Draft Tuesday night. Palumbo was the first Ivy League player selected.

Palumbo, a lefty who played midfield most of his career before moving to attack this season, is currently Princeton's leading goal scorer with 25, along with 15 assists. He has 15 goals on 38 shots in the last four games after having 10 goals on 37 shots in the first seven.

Palumbo tied the Princeton record for goals in an NCAA tournament game with six against Syracuse in last year's NCAA quarterfinals, despite suffering a knee injury on the first that kept him sidelined for six months, after a season that saw him score 28 goals and 19 assists and earn second-team All-American honors. A two-time Ivy League All-Tournament team selection, Palumbo brings 81 goals and 45 assists into Saturday's game at Harvard.

Princeton is currently ranked No. 2 in the country in all three major polls.
