PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton men's volleyball team will close out the regular season this weekend with a trip up to Boston for a two-game series against Harvard with a spot in the EIVA tournament up for grabs.
The Tigers will take on the Crimson on Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 4 p.m.

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton men's volleyball team will close out the regular season this weekend with a trip up to Boston for a two-game series against Harvard with a spot in the EIVA tournament up for grabs.
The Tigers will take on the Crimson on Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 4 p.m.
About The Tigers
- Princeton most recently dropped two hard-fought contests to George Mason on the road in Fairfax, Va. last weekend, falling 3-1 in game one and 3-2 in game two.
- Ambrose Engling hit 16 kills in each game for 32 on the weekend. Andrew Werner also hit double figures both nights, with 10 kills on Friday and a team-high 17 on Saturday.
- Tristan Whitfield had 10 blocks on the weekend, also making 19 kills while hitting .457 across both games.
- Princeton, 1-9 in league play, currently sits at the bottom of the EIVA standings, behind Harvard with a record of 3-7. Six of the seven teams in the league will make the EIVA Tournament on April 22-25, with the first seed hosting.
- Earlier this season, Princeton picked up a ranked win over #12 UC San Diego in a five-set thriller. The Tiger defense shined against UCSD, with Kelly making six blocks and nine digs for team-highs. Owen Mellon and Andrew Werner led on offense with 12 and nine kills apiece, respectively.
- Mellon leads the Tigers in kills, averaging 3.31 a set for fifth in the EIVA. Mellon tallied a career high 25 kills against Dominican on Feb. 28, marking his second of the season after he first made 20 kills against #5 USC in January.
- Kelly has been clutch for the Tigers, ranking second in the EIVA in digs with an average of 1.96 a set. He also ranks fifth in assists, tallying 8.32/s.
- Whitfield's 1.01 blocks a set rank fourth in the EIVA.
- Princeton was picked to finish fourth in the EIVA preseason poll, with Mason Rice and Ryan Vena named players to watch.
- Last year, the Tigers won the EIVA regular season championship. Ultimately, they fell to Penn State in the EIVA tournament finals.
- The Tigers are led by Head Coach Sam Shweisky, in his 17th year. He is assisted by Joe Norton, in his third.
About Harvard
- Harvard is 6-15 on the year and 3-7 in the EIVA, just above Princeton in the standings. The Crimson last faced George Mason in Fairfax on April 3rd and 4th, falling 3-0 in both matches.
- Sawyer Nichols leads the Crimson in kills with 2.75 a set.
- Owen Woolbert ranks third in the EIVA in hitting percentage with .287. He also ranks seventh in blocks with 0.93/s.
- Quinn Bishop is third in the EIVA in aces with 23 on the season for an average of 0.35 a set.
- Princeton is 16-15 against Harvard in the series dating back to 2002, and 4-10 on the road. Last year, the Tigers swept the Crimson at home.
