PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton men's volleyball team will close out the action in Dillon Gym this weekend as it hosts Sacred Heart for a two-game conference series. Game one is set for 7 p.m. on Friday, with game two at 4 p.m. on Saturday.

About The Tigers
- Princeton most recently split a home series against Charleston last weekend. After getting swept 3-0 on Friday night, the Tigers responded with a dominant sweep of their own on Saturday. The win was the Tigers' first EIVA victory this season.
- Owen Mellon led the Tigers with 13 kills on 20 swings for .550 hitting. With eight kills on 15 swings, Ryan Vena was behind him with .333 hitting.
- Tristan Whitfield tallied a team-high five blocks in the contest. Nolan Kelly added three blocks in addition to his 31 assists.
- Princeton currently sits at the bottom of the EIVA standings, tied in conference record with Sacred Heart (1-5). Six of the seven teams in the league will make the EIVA Tournament on April 22-25, with the first seed hosting.
- Earlier this season, Princeton picked up a ranked win over #12 UC San Diego in a five-set thriller. The Tiger defense shined against UCSD, with Kelly making six blocks and nine digs for team-highs. Mellon and Andrew Werner led on offense with 12 and nine kills apiece, respectively.
- Mellon leads the Tigers in kills, averaging 3.38 a set for fourth in the EIVA. Mellon tallied a career high 25 kills against Dominican on Feb. 28, marking his second of the season after he first made 20 kills against #5 USC in January.
- Kelly has been clutch for the Tigers, ranking third in the EIVA in digs with an average of 1.95 a set. He also ranks fifth in assists, tallying 8.05/s.
- Whitfield's 1.00 blocks a set rank fourth in the EIVA.
- Princeton was picked to finish fourth in the EIVA preseason poll, with Mason Rice and Vena named players to watch.
- Last year, the Tigers won the EIVA regular season championship. Ultimately, they fell to Penn State in the EIVA tournament finals.
- The Tigers are led by Head Coach Sam Shweisky, in his 17th year. He is assisted by Joe Norton, in his third.
About Sacred Heart
- Sacred Heart is 8-11 on the year and 1-5 in EIVA play, most recently splitting the series with Harvard as it picked up a 3-1 win on Friday night.
- In EIVA play so far, Sacred Heart also dropped series to George Mason and Charleston.
- Aleksa Mandic leads the Pioneers with 3.26 kills a set. Armaan Dosanjh has been solid at setter, making 8.83 assists a set for fourth in the EIVA. He also leads the league in aces with 0.49 a set and 28 total on the year.
- Aaron Johnson's 1.02 blocks a set put him second in the league.
- Princeton is 21-5 all-time against the Pioneers. At home, the Tigers are 13-3 against SHU. Last season, the Tigers swept the series against Sacred Heart on the road in Connecticut, only dropping one set all weekend.
