No. 3-4-5 Princeton Rocks Vermont 19-5 After Practically Perfect First Half
April 04, 2026 | Men's Lacrosse
As a first half goes, the one the Princeton men's lacrosse team played in what became a 19-5 win at Vermont Saturday afternoon can best be described this way: Perfect.
Â
Overstatement? Maybe. How about "practically perfect?" What else can you say when it was 8-0 Tigers after the first quarter and then 13-0 at intermission? For that matter what else can you say when one of your starting defensemen outscores your opponent — not the one he was guarding but the entire team — in the first half?
Â
You can't do much better than that.
Â
The win came in Princeton's first trip to Vermont and was the final non-league game of the regular season. The Tigers, now 8-2 overall, finish April with Ivy League games at home against Penn, at Harvard and home against Dartmouth.
Â
It also came on a day when face-off coach Casey Dowd and his wife Renee celebrated the birth of their first child, a son they named Cooper. A picture of the baby, who was born overnight, was on a poster behind the Princeton bench.
Â
As for the game, Nate Kabiri had a five-goal, two-assist day, including three goals in the first three minutes as Princeton sprinted away. The goals and points both tied career highs for Kabiri, who also became only the fourth player in program history with three seasons of at least 20 goals and 20 assists, joining all-time program greats Michael Sowers, Tom Schreiber and Dave Heubeck.
Â
Â
Palumbo (3G, 1A) and Tucker Wade (2G, 2A) both had four point games, while Colin Burns had three assists. Fuller and Jake Vana both had two goals, and Aidan McDonald and Carson Krammer had one each.
Â
Ryan Croddick played the first three quarters in goal and finished with two goals against and seven saves. Princeton hounded UVM into 23 turnovers, with two CTs each for Owen Fischer, Hunter Spiess and Quinn Krammer. Â

Speaking of career highs, Princeton got goals from four different players who had never scored before, including starting defenseman Finn Fox, who finished a behind-the-back feed from Chad Palumbo in the second quarter. The other three were Will Fuller, who actually had two, as well as shortstick defensive middie Isaac Cruz and backup attackman Jacob Todd.FIRST CAREER GOAL FOR FINN FOX OFF OF A BTB PALUMBO ASSIST?? pic.twitter.com/CvXyCwwFNW
