Inchauspe Earns Spot In PIF ATP Next Gen Accelerator Program

Princeton men's No. 1 singles player Paul Inchauspe is one of 23 college tennis players who have qualified for the PIF ATP Next Gen Accelarator Program, which in conjunction with the Intercollegiate Tennis Association attempts to give top American college players a start on their professional careers though the ATP Challenger Tour.

Student-athletes earn qualification into this program by finishing in Top 20 of the Year-End ITA Singles Rankings or by reaching the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Singles Championship. For those players who have finished their time in college tennis are granted up to eight (8) Accelerator Spots at Challenger 50 and 75 tournaments, with opportunities split between main draw (for Top 10 ITA ranked players) and qualifying (11-20).

Inchauspe earned his spot by meeting both criteria. The rising senior was an NCAA single semifinalist in the fall, and he finished the year ranked No. 5 in singles by the ITA. Among his highlights this past year were wins over fourth-ranked Trevor Svadja of SMU in the opening round of the NCAA team tournament and Columbia's Michael Zheng, the two-time NCAA singles champ whom Inchauspe defeated for the deciding point to give Princeton the ECAC tournament championship.
