Isabelle Boulais Named The Cornelia Drake and John Van Ryn Jr. ’28 Assistant Coach of Tennis

Isabelle Boulais has been named the Cornelia Drake and John Van Ryn Jr. '28 Assistant Coach of Tennis at Princeton, head coach Elizabeth Johnson has announced.
Boulais comes to Princeton after a year as an assistant coach at Furman, where she helped the Paladins to a 17-5 record, a perfect Southern Conference regular season and a final ITF ranking of 67th. She joins a Princeton team that won a share of the Ivy League championship this past spring and finished the season ranked 40th.
A highly successful player in her own right, Boulais had career high WTA rankings of 571st in singles and 515th in doubles. She graduated from Ohio State with a bachelor's degree in psychology in 2022 and then earned a certificate in diversity, equity and inclusion in 2023 after playing as a grad student. In all she was a three-time All-Big Ten selection, earning Big Ten Freshman of the Year and ITA Midwest Region Rookie of the Year honors in 2019 and qualifying for the NCAA tournament twice in both singles and doubles. She was also a four-time Academic All-Big Ten and Ohio State Scholar-Athlete honoree.
Boulais is a native of Oakville, Ont., outside of Toronto, and a five-time Canadian national champion with titles in both singles and doubles in the U16 and U18 divisions. She also competed as a member of the Canadian Junior Billie Jean King Cup Team for Canada. Before her year at Furman, she coached at the Ontario Racquet Club, where she worked with elite players on the junior and senior levels. She also had responsibilities with the college recruiting process, performance and social media.
