Riccardo Fantinelli will play in the U.S. Amateur the coming August after earning co-medalist honors at the Final Qualifier at Llanerch Country Club in Havertown, Pa.
Fantinelli, who also played in the U.S. Amateur in 2024, shot a 66 (-5) over the 18-hole qualifier to tie Nicholas Gross for first place and earn one of eight qualifying spots to the 126th U.S. Amateur which will be played August 10-16 at Merion Golf Club and Philadelphia Country Club in Philadelphia.
Fantinelli carded six birdies and just one bogey over his round to finish atop the leaderboard and four shots clear of the cut line. He was four under over the front nine, posting birdies on holes 1, 2, 6 and 9 to jump out in front.
A three-time Ivy League Player of the Year, Fantinelli graduated in May having played in three NCAA Regionals during his Princeton career.
