Lindsey, Houlden Sweep Ivy Player Of The Week Awards

One good sweep deserves another for the Princeton field hockey team.

Princeton's weekend saw a sweep of Big Ten opponents Rutgers (2-0 Friday at home) and Penn State (2-1 Sunday on the road). Its Monday saw a different kind of sweep, as the Tigers took both Ivy League Player of the Week awards.

Pru Lindsey, who scored three of the four goals on the weekend, was named the league's Offensive Player of the Week. Clem Houlden, who went all 120 minutes of the two games as the defense allowed only one goal and a total of 11 shots, was named Defensive Player of the Week.

Lindsey now leads Princeton with four goals through four games. She is also second in the league and 13th in Division I in goals per game. Houlden's defense leads Division I in scoring defense, allowing 0.23 goals per game. In fact, the goal that Penn State scored was the first Princeton has allowed this season.

Princeton will open its Ivy League season Friday at 3 at Penn and then head to UConn for a game Sunday at noon.
