Pru Lindsey (8) scored the game winning goal in Princeton's 2-1 OT win over Cornell.

Last weekend, Pru Lindsey saw was it was like to see someone put home your perfect feed in overtime. Friday evening at Cornell, she got to see what it was like on the other end.
Lindsey tipped in a perfect cross from Reese Milone with 3:17 into overtime to give No. 9 Princeton a 2-1 win over Cornell on a rainy night in Ithaca. The win came one game after Princeton defeated then No. 1 Northwestern also in overtime, that time when Lindsey fed across the cage to Ella Cashman.
Overtime has been a common theme for the Tigers this season. The game last night was the sixth overtime game out of 13, and no Princeton team has ever played that many OT games in one year. Like the Northwestern game, Princeton had to fight back to tie this one in the fourth quarter after falling behind 1-0.
Cornell scored first, off a penalty corner late in the first quarter. Despite an overwhelming edge in possession time and shots — the Tigers would end up outshooting the Big Red 26-2 — Cornell clung to that lead largely because of its goalie, Martha Broderick, who would finish with 13 saves.
Princeton finally drew even after being behind for 34 minutes when Molly Nye finished off a feed into the circle from Milone, who had both assists on the night. It stayed 1-1 into the overtime before Lindsey, last week's Division I Offensive Player of the Week, ended it.
Princeton won for the fifth straight time to improve to 9-4 overall, 4-1 in the Ivy League. Princeton is also 2-4 in games that have gone past regulation, with a 2-0 OT record and an 0-4 record in shootouts. Cornell fell to 3-2 in the league, 5-7 overall.
The Tigers will be off for seven days before taking on Brown at home Friday, Oct. 13, and then Saint Joe's at home two days later.
